The race will start and finish at The Back Porch in Destin, FL. For the course, the shortest distance (100 miles) is achieved by running totally on the beach. There are several bike paths along the route on Old Hwy 98, 30A, and Panama City Beach that you will be able to choose as an alternative to the beach. If you took all the paths you would reduce your sand running by aprox 50 miles. If you choose one of these paths you will be required to run that entire section of path. To say it another way, people won’t be allowed to jump on and off the paths at random points- there will be an entry and exit point for each path. Running on the paths will add distance to your event, but that may be favorable to running 100 miles on the sand for some. Pacers will be allowed starting at sunset on Saturday until the end of the event. They may carry anything except you. The total time allowed for the race is 30 hours with cutoffs at several points. Below you may download the pacing and cut off chart.
